Friday: End of season celebration / award ceremony, Civic field 5pm to 7pm. Please communicate with April Veracka if you have not done so already with who is attending and if you are able to contribute.

5/7 Varsity game vs John Stark postponed, JV practice canceled

All,
Due to weather conditions the varsity game scheduled against John Stark is postponed until 5/14. Varsity will not have practice as it is uncertain what the weather will do and we do not have an indoor location.
JV has canceled practice as well.
Wednesday:
Varsity will meet at civic at 4pm to support the JV team for their game against Kearsarge.
JV has been instructed to be at Civic no later than 3:15pm.
Both teams be sure to have your cookie dough money into the coaches by this time.
If you have an issue doing so please contact the coaches to discuss a solution.

I am emailing everyone to provide a summary update of what this week will look like and other important dates on our horizon.

Important note: Due to some complications with the new field it is not ready for us to use and for the remainder of the season (until otherwise notified) we will be using Civic Memorial Field as our "Home" field. I am sorry for the inconvenience and confusion. I have asked that the schedule online be updated with this information.

Cookie Dough Delivery

Good Evening Everyone,
As a reminder, we are expecting the cookie dough to arrive at LHS on Friday 4/26 after 2pm.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to pick up the cookie dough to distribute. The cookie dough is shipped on dry ice and can be out of refrigeration up to 6 hours, after which time the dough will start to thaw.
Money will be due to the athletic department (Pam Spaulding) by Tuesday 4/30. Please collect all moneys for the orders you have taken and submit full payment If checks are to be used, have them made out to Lebanon School District.

KSC vs Plymouth game 4/16

Good Evening Everyone,
I am sending out this notice to you all to communicate about our trip to see KSC play against Plymouth.
We have a bus that is scheduled to depart LHS no later than 2pm. I request that you be at the school no later than 1:45pm. The game is schedule to start at 3:30pm. There is not cost for admission to the event. I do know know if there will be any form of concession at the game so please be sure to bring snacks. I will look for the possibility of a road stop on the way back for dinner (McDonalds or some other fast food chain).
The weather for the time of the game is suppose to be in the 50s and sunny. Please dress accordingly.
I would like to show our team spirit by having the team wear their jerseys to the game. Please remember that we are guests and ambassadors of our school and softball program, so please dress appropriately.

In order for you to be able to attend the event I need to have the signed permission slip before boarding the bus.

Good Evening Everyone,
As you may all know, we are scheduled to have a game against John Stark tomorrow at 4pm on the field at Civic Memorial Field.
I have heard from 5 players from the JV team that are able to attend the game. The names of those players are as follows:

I look forward to seeing you at Civic Memorial Field at 3:15pm.
The weather does not look promising for tomorrow. Should the game be postponed due to the rain the tentative rain date is the 16th (Tuesday). There are some issues that are on the table for the game to be rescheduled on Tuesday. I am waiting for more information from the AD on how the situation will be resolved. Baseball has a rule about how many pitches the pitcher athlete can throw within a specific amount of time. Being that there are three other games scheduled this week, there is a concern that this will create a conflict with this rule.
Once I have further information if we end up in this situation I will communicate as soon as I receive word.
If tomorrow's game is canceled I will send out communication once I information from the AD.

Good Evening Everyone,
I want to start off by saying that the girls did an absolutely amazing job during the fundraising event on Monday! The positive atmosphere and up beat motivation to participate was excellent!
So what's next...
Order forms are do to me at the start of practice tomorrow. This is so I can get them submitted for processing.
After the forms are mailed out I will receive an email from the company notifying me of their receipt of the orders. They will at the same time give me a list of possible delivery dates. It will be at that time that I will pick a date when the cookie dough will come in for distribution. Once distributed I have one week to collect money from the players. The players, when they receive the cookie orders, will be responsible for delivery of the product to their customers and collection of funds.
As we move through each step of this process I will email out what the next step will be with any definitive information I have at that time.

Practice times and Extra Evaluation times

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am emailing today to clarify a question that has come up a few times.
As you should know, we are doing evaluations this week. I was able to secure extra gym time to evaluate players outside of our regular practice time.
Players are required to be at all our regularly scheduled practice times regardless if they attended one of the extra evaluation times to be evaluated. As the week progresses there will be an ever growing group of athletes that will have completed the evaluation. Once we have evaluated enough players to permit the space to resume regular practice we will go back to a standard practice while the rest finish their evaluation.
To explain the scheme and maneuver of the way the process will work is the athletes will be divided up into groups and will move together from station to station. Some players will not have to evaluate with their group because they had completed that portion previously (at one of the extra evaluation periods). However they will stay in their groups and move through the stations together.
The purpose for this process is to help expedite the evaluations to get us back to normal practice, in addition to provide opportunities for those who may have had an evaluation that would warrant a re-evaluation.
The other difficulty we experience with evaluations is the time it takes to get everyone through the batting cage to do the hitting evaluation. The extra gym time does not elevate this issue but it allows us to complete the other portions of the evaluation.

With the busy week we have coming up I thought it wise to send out a summary of what is to come.

We have received some extra gym time from the Girls Lax coach in an effort to support evaluations this week. I need at least 5 to 10 players willing to come in during these times to be evaluated. Please respond to this email with your availability of what day you can come. Days with extra gym time are marked with a "*".
Monday 3/25;
5:15pm, LHS cafeteria: 59 minute fundraiser with Dan Reyome. Should take no longer than 1 hr 30 minutes. Our gym time is from 6pm to 730pm as well, so I will take who every may be available to start evaluations.
Tuesday 3/26:
4:30pm to 6pm, LHS Gym and HSS Gym; Evaluations Everyone will meet in LHS gym to begin with warm ups, attendance, and then we will go from there.
*3:30pm to 4:30pm HSS gym: additional Gym time for evaluations. Please reply with availability.
Wednesday 3/27:

Weight Room Vs Workouts at practice

I am emailing you this evening to clarify and communicate what the workout plans/expectations will be going forward. The option was put before the team that if they agreed to all attend the weight room times that are offered we would limit/ reduce the workouts conducted at practice (there has to be some form of warmup in order to properly prepare the athletes for practice). Because the team could not reach a consensus we will proceed with a team based workout at practice and those who are interested may attend the weight room times voluntarily.

Good Evening Everyone,
I hope everyone is as excited about the start of the 2019 season as I am! As you know tomorrow is the first scheduled practice. If you have not completed the FamilyID registration process please do so. Players will not be permitted to participate until this process is completed and they are approved. I have posted two files for everyone to view on the Big Teams site, the indoor practice schedule and the presentation from the parent meeting on the 14th.

Practice Canceled 2/18

I am emailing you to communicate that practice this evening will be canceled.
Reason for the cancelation is that with the uncertain weather conditions I do not want to put anyone at risk traveling. The temperature is dropping and I do not know what road conditions may be like either to or from practice. In addition to weather, I do not know what the turn out will be this evening as it is the start of winter break. I do realize that families tend to try and plan vacations or quality time during these kind of breaks.

There will be practice on Wednesday. The focus for practice will be batting.
